There was a soft autumn light which poured itself inside the pub – which is strange given that it is only the beginning of spring. The Calf was eerily quiet, as many places tend to be at this time of the day, but I’ve always found that to be a perk, and it meant we could easily pick whichever part of the pub to accommodate us.
Location: The Calf, Clapham, London

The grandiose leather chairs were an instant attraction, but the somewhat mismatched furniture created a wonderful array of options, catering for whichever preferences one could have. The Calf is very spacious inside (and incredibly long – I wasn’t expecting it to be this big looking from the outside). If you want to see the full #BarelyEating project head over here.
The food is the typical hearty food you would expect of a food – nothing over-complicated. I’m told that the Reuben sandwich (corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing) was delicious – however I tend to stay away from sandwiches lately due to my braces. Queue sad face. Oh the days I used to just tear into things with my teeth. It did look great in the pictures, maybe it should consider a modeling career.
