The cakes are scattered around the room, kept safely under their little glass dome, much alike the rose in Beauty & the Beast (I can’t help it that is what those things make me think about all the time). Much akin to the random spread of cakes, the furniture itself is an ode to the Brownian motion – which is really what the theatre is behind the curtains.

Tea House Theatre is flooded with natural light, the windows from which it pours into opening up to this little park in the area, good for a cheeky bit of people watching. It was also the spot for the 4th series from my #BarelyEating project (more about it here).
In terms of its unique selling point, that would definitely be a place of social gathering: on my visits here I have often found it to be great for a meet-up with friends, as the place is quiet and cake is never a bad thing to have at hand. The tea is the usual somewhat tasteless hot water that joints in London seem to offer, but as time goes on I feel like I should just give up expecting anything else. The cakes are quite decent – the carrot cake was nice and moist, and they didn’t overdo it with the icing which is always a good thing.
