The cabin-like wooden interior, together with the baskets of croissants and madeleines lying about quickly made me think of a chalet when entering tart. Surely enough, chalets aren’t necessarily French but I can’t control my thought processes all that much.
Location: Tart, Clapham, London
Cuisine: Cafe
Camera: iPhone 7
The first thing to remark is that the place looks a tiny bit like my grandma’s house – tables with chairs that don’t match, as if every little bit has been bought from a yard sale (I wrote yarn sale at first but that didn’t quite sound right). The staff is also a bit all over the place and incredibly slow (I mean, how long does it take to bring to the table food that is already ready, and to make me a tea?)
The food itself was tasty – I quite enjoy the savoury selection of the place. The filo pastry was deliciously buttery, crunchy on the outside, even tempted in saying that the middle bit was a salty surprise but people might misinterpret that.
As for the sweeter stuff – alas I was still on my no sugar diet so didn’t have the pleasure of trying out any of them. My co-foodie did munch on some Madeleines in front of me, I must have done something for him to want to punish me.
